Student Support Consultant

Providing support and resources to schools for academic and behavioural needs.

Department of Education’s Student Support Consultants are members of an interdisciplinary educational team. They provide a range of services (i.e., consultation, assessment, programming, training, community liaising, etc.) to support students within the educational setting.

Student Support Consultants provide support and guidance with:
 
  • The student referral process
  • Support the development of Individual Education Plans (IEP); Student Learning Plans (StLP); Student Support Plans (SSP), Behaviour Support Plans (BSP); Safety Plans (SP)
  • Universal Design for Learning and Differentiation
  • Inclusive Educational Practices
  • Access to Learning strategies
  • School Based Team Meetings
  • Classroom Management
  • Observations/Recommendations (Whole class /individual student)
  • Data Collection
  • Problem Solving
  • In-servicing/training/mentoring
